Brian Patrick Butler is an actor, filmmaker and screenwriter known for his feature directorial debut Friend of the World and his performances in short films We All Die Alone and Zach King's Day Off. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from San Diego State University and studied acting at Magdalen College, Oxford. At a young age, he started shooting movies in San Diego with his brother and cousins, creating homemade gore effects to be used in absurd shorts that blended elements of horror and comedy. Brian made his first two short films in the mid 2010s: Hatred and The Phantom Hour. With over hundreds of films in competition, Video Librarian Magazine presented his first feature film, Friend of the World, as one of their top 15 best narrative films of 2022. His other onscreen work includes films such as South of 8, Hacksaw, Thane of East County and a titular role in Mike and Fred vs the Dead.
